Wayanad is a green paradise and we chose our stay accordingly, which was a lovely tented-property called Grassroots – a magical, romantic getaway tucked away in a lush tropical rain forest, totally away from the civilization. The teak, sandalwood and eucalyptus groves surrounded complete property with the gurging stream and luxuriant vegetation, all making it an ideal getaway from mainstream. In the midst of this massive rain forest lies a little slice of plantation life for you to enjoy with bamboo and other exotic spices plants surrounding the resort. Those couple of days there were spent soaking in the tranquility of the place itself, carrying out some local spice-shopping, boating trip on nearby Banasura Sagar Dam and traditional adventure activity of Bamboo-Rafting in the nearby forests (much to amusement of local rafting guide seeing a 11 month old baby on the raft.
